1.1
Who earns points
Every player who completes the round earns points for their finish. Players who withdraw or are disqualified earn no points for that event.
-
1.2
Ties
Players tied for a position combine the points for the tied places and split them evenly.
-
1.3
Points follow the player
A player promoted or relegated at a quarterly review keeps their points and carries them into the new flight.
-
1.4
Sandbagging
A player found sandbagging loses all points from that event, and the standings are recalculated without them. See Section 2.
Making the Playoff
-
2.1
Top 8 per flight
After the 22nd event, the top 8 players in points in each flight qualify for that flight's playoff.
-
2.2
8-event minimum
A player must have completed at least 8 regular-season events to qualify. If someone in the top 8 hasn't, the next eligible player moves up.
-
2.3
Ties for 8th
Ties for the last spot are broken by most wins, then most top-3 finishes, then most events played, then a coin flip by the Committee.
-
2.4
Flight at season's end
Players compete in the playoff for the flight they're in after the final regular-season event.
Three Weeks of Match Play
Each flight plays its own 8-player bracket. There are no handicap strokes, since everyone in the flight plays at the same level.
| Date | Round | Course | Players per flight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sun, Sep 12 | Quarterfinals | Poppy Ridge, Livermore | 8 |
| Sat, Sep 25 | Semifinals | Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach | 4 |

3.1
Seeding
Players are seeded 1–8 by regular-season points. The winners of 1 vs 8 and 4 vs 5 meet in one semifinal, and the winners of 2 vs 7 and 3 vs 6 in the other.
-
3.2
Match play rules
Matches are 18 holes of gross match play under the Rules of Golf. Concessions are allowed in match play.
-
3.3
Tied matches
A match that's all square after 18 holes goes to sudden-death extra holes, starting on the 1st hole or on holes the Committee chooses.
-
3.4
Can't make a match
A player who can't play a scheduled match forfeits it. The Committee may reschedule only for weather or a course problem.
-
3.5
Champions
Each flight crowns its own champion at Pebble Beach.
