When you open or click our emails, Mailchimp records email activity such as opens, clicks and bounces.
Information from others
We receive handicap information and score history from the USGA GHIN system and the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) to calculate Tournament Index and set flights. Playing partners provide your hole-by-hole scores on official scorecards.
How we use your information
- Run the tour: process memberships and event registrations, set flights, make groupings, keep score, calculate points and standings, and pay out prize money and skins.
- Handicapping: post competition scores to GHIN and calculate Tournament Index as described in our Rules.
- Protect the competition: review handicap records and results for sandbagging and enforce the Rules and Code of Conduct.
- Communicate with you: send registration confirmations, tee times, schedule changes, weather updates and results. These are service messages connected to your membership.
- Newsletter and announcements: with your consent, send news about upcoming events, the season and the tour.
- Operate and improve the website: keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which pages are useful.
- Legal and financial: keep payment records, meet tax and legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Information that is made public
Tour golf is a public competition. By joining the tour, you understand that the following is published on the website and may be shared on our social media and in emails:
- your name, flight and Tournament Index range
- event results, scores, finishing positions, points, standings and playoff status
- prize money and skins won
- event photos and video
If you'd rather not appear in a particular photo, or have a privacy concern about something we've published, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Results and standings are part of the official record of the competition and generally can't be removed.
We never publish your email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth or payment information.
Email marketing and Mailchimp
We use Mailchimp (operated by Intuit Inc.) to manage our email list and send newsletters and announcements. When you sign up, your email address, name and sign-up details are sent to and stored by Mailchimp so it can deliver our emails. Mailchimp may also collect information about how you interact with our emails, such as opens and clicks, so we can understand what's useful. Learn more in Intuit's Privacy Statement.
- Consent: we only add you to our newsletter list if you sign up or opt in. We don't buy, rent or borrow email lists.
- Unsubscribe anytime: every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email privacy@doubledigittour.com. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days.
- Service emails continue: if you're a current member, you'll still receive emails needed to run the tour, such as registration confirmations, tee times and schedule changes, even if you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
- Who's sending: our emails clearly identify the Double Digit Tour as the sender and include our mailing address, as required by the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act.

Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies, small files stored in your browser, to keep the site working, remember your preferences, keep you signed in and process purchases. We don't currently use website analytics or advertising cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as checkout, may not work without them.

California residents
We're based in California and follow the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). This policy describes the categories of personal information we collect, the third parties we share it with, how you can review and correct your information, how we respond to Do Not Track signals, and how we notify you of changes. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, you may ask whether we've shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing. We don't do that.
Visitors outside the United States
The tour operates in California, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and subscribe to our emails, we rely on your consent to send them. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing, and you may also contact your local data protection authority.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secure payment processing through Stripe, and limiting access to tour administrators who need it. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.
Children
The website and tour are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as the NCGA, GHIN, host golf courses and social media. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll also post a notice on the website or email members before they take effect.
