Entry, Payouts & Conduct
Membership, registration, refunds, weather, how the purse is paid and what we expect from every player.
Eligibility & Membership
-
1.1
Season membership
Membership is $40 for the season, or $99 with an NCGA membership and GHIN Handicap Index included. You must be a member to enter events.
-
1.2
Handicap Index required
Every player must hold a current USGA Handicap Index, through the tour's NCGA option or another club, and post scores as the Rules of Handicapping require.
-
1.3
Accurate information
Members must give accurate handicap and GHIN information and keep it up to date. Hiding a second GHIN number or club membership is treated as sandbagging.
Entering Events
-
2.1
When to register
Registration opens 30 days before each event and closes 72 hours before the first tee time, or earlier if the field fills.
-
2.2
What you pay
The $20 entry plus the course's own green fee, with no markup. Flighted skins ($20) and the super skin ($10) are optional.
-
2.3
Withdrawals and refunds
Withdraw before registration closes for a full refund of your entry and skins. After it closes, entries aren't refunded, and green fees follow the host course's cancellation policy.
-
2.4
No-shows
A player who doesn't show up without notice forfeits their fees. A second no-show in a season means you can't register for the next event.
Where the Money Goes
100% of the entry pool is paid back to players in cash, by flight, on the day of the event. The tour keeps none of it.
| Players in flight | Places paid | Split |
|---|---|---|
| 10 or fewer | Top 3 | 50% · 30% · 20% |
| 11–20 | Top 4 | 50% · 25% · 15% · 10% |
| 21–30 | Top 5 | 40% · 25% · 20% · 10% · 5% |
| 31+ | Top 9 | 40% · 23% · 12% · 7% · 5.5% · 4.5% · 3.5% · 2.5% · 2% |
| Example flight | Pool | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 players | $200 | $100 | $60 | $40 | — |
| 12 players | $240 | $120 | $60 | $36 | $24 |
| 15 players | $300 | $150 | $75 | $45 | $30 |
-
3.1
Paid in cash
Winnings are paid in cash at the scoring table once every card in the flight is in and results are posted.
-
3.2
Ties
Tied players combine the prize money for the tied places and split it evenly.
-
3.3
Held winnings
Winnings flagged for a sandbagging review are held until the review is finished. See Section 2.
Weather & Cancellations
-
4.1
Before the event
If the course closes or the Committee cancels before play starts, the event moves to its rain date if one is scheduled. If not, all entries are refunded.
-
4.2
Play suspended
If play is called before every group finishes, results are based on the last full nine holes every player completed. If fewer than nine holes are completed, the event is canceled and entries are refunded.
-
4.3
Lightning
Stop play immediately when the course sounds a stoppage for lightning (Rule 5.7).
Code of Conduct
-
5.1
Respect
Treat playing partners, course staff and the course with respect. Repair ball marks and divots, rake bunkers and follow the course's dress code and alcohol policy.
-
5.2
Integrity
Play by the Rules, call penalties on yourself and keep an honest score. Knowingly signing for a wrong score ends your season.
-
5.3
Disputes
If you're unsure how to proceed on the course, play two balls under Rule 20.1c and report it before returning your card. The Committee's decision is final once results are posted.
-
5.4
Misconduct
Serious misconduct can lead to disqualification from the event, suspension or removal from the tour, at the Committee's discretion. Removed members don't receive a refund.
-
5.5
Sandbagging
Sandbagging is handled under the review process in Section 2: winnings forfeited, points stripped, a fine of $20 per player in the flight and permanent placement in the correct flight. A second offense means removal from the tour.
